Joaquin Phoenix is back as Gotham’s clown prince of crime in Joker: Folie à Deux, but this time, he’s not alone anymore. Joining Arthur Fleck in wreaking havoc is Lady Gaga as Harleen Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn. The official teaser trailer of the musical psychological thriller is here and it is captivating.

Earlier today, Warner Bros. unveiled the teaser trailer of Joker: Folie à Deux. The 2 minutes, 30 seconds video begins with asylum guards asking Arthur if he has a joke for them. It then pans to Arthur locking eyes with Harley as she’s immersed in a music session. The duo find solace in music and each other’s company or as they say – they use “music to make us whole, to balance the fractures within ourselves.”
The teaser trailer captures the duo as they plan to escape the literal and metaphorical cage and enjoy life together. This promo video also see Harley tell Arthur, “I’m nobody. I haven’t done anything with my life like you have.” The video is an amalgamation of a musical with the heart of a tragic story. The video ends with Arthur staring into a mirror with a hint of sorrow in his eyes before smiling the signature Joker smile.

The upcoming musical psychological thriller is directed Todd Phillips and sees Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as the titular character. Joker: Folie à Deux also stars Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond – Arthur’s former neighbour, and Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener in undisclosed roles. It also stars Robert De Niro in a cameo appearance.The film is scheduled to release theatrically on October 4, 2024. It will be available for viewing in India in English, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.
